Encoded Archival Description Working Group

At its August 1995 meeting, the Society of American Archivists' Committee on Archival Information Exchange created the Working Group on Encoded Archival Description (EADWG) to monitor and provide support for the continued development of a standard for encoded archival finding aids. The Working Group is specifically charged with:

1. assisting in developing and reviewing a data model for archival finding aids
2. reviewing the EAD DTD
3. testing and evaluating the EAD DTD
4. reviewing the application guidelines
5. initiating review of the EAD by the SAA Standards Board and SAA Council.
