Relative to what Jerry says about links to trascriptions I have a
question.
We have made images of two versions of the same diary--one the
original ms, the other a typed transcription. We are encoding the
typescript in the hope of linking the entries in all three
(handwritten original, typed transcript and digital transcript). The
typescript has the page numbers of the manuscript original in the
margin. We can link from the transcript directly to the images of the
typescript via figure entities embedded in the text. We will embed the
ms page numbers in <milestone> tags. We were going to give these tags
attributes for ed="ms" unit="page" n="8". (Example below) Must we also
insert an ID attribute? If so I will drop the "n" attribute and
replace it with "id". I need to know asap so I can give our vendor the
change.
