The
Battalion and the Band on review. Up through 1962
all male students were required to take part in
a mandatory program of military training. The flagpole
stands about where Sather Tower rises today. The
large building is Bacon Hall, which served as the
library and art gallery; East Hall is the white
building to the left, and the brick building up
the hill to the left is the Chemistry Building.
