Digital Library Objects Encapsulate:
1) Content
- Digitized images (JPEG, JTIP…), text; numeric datasets, etc.
2) Metadata (three types)
- Descriptive: intellectual description of the object
- used to support discovery
- Structural: describes the object’s internal organization
- used to support display and navigation
- Administrative: management information
- (e.g., when object was created, rights management, etc.)
