Sample MOA2 Objects
Links are provided to some sample MOA2 objects below. If you click
on the link, the selected object will come up in GenView, MOA2 document
viewer developed in the Library Systems Office at U.C. Berkeley.
The objects on this page have been selected to demonstrate the potential
of the MOA2 encoding, and the available supporting tools.
This document demonstrates the rich document structure support. Click
on the blue arrow next to the entry for Page 39 in the Table of Contents
Frame. Note that the entry for "Page 39" now opens up to show the
entries immediately below it. Now click on the entry for "Page 39
Overview" that appears below "Page 39". An overview image of the
entire page appears in the right-hand frame. Now click on the "Next"
button at the top of the right-hand frame. The Table of Contents frame
advances to the entry for "Contents of envelopes, p.39", and an overview
of the contents of the envelopes attached to Page 39 appears in the right-hand
frame. Now click on the "Next" button again. Note that
the "Contents of envelopes" entry under Page 39 has now opened up, and
you are positioned at the first entry under this, "Page 39a front".
The contents of the first envelope, a birthday card, appears in the right-hand
frame.
This document demonstrates Chinese characters (as UTF8 encoded Unicode).
Note that a Unicode font such as Arial Unicode MS or appropriate Chinese
font must be available on your system; and your browser must be configured
to make use of this font.
This document demonstrates:

Helper application support. Click on the 1895 version of the map
in the Table of Contents Frame. Click on the map in the right-hand
frame to activate a MrSid version of the image.

Support for multiple levels of Descriptive metadata. Click on the
1895 version of the map in the Table of Contents Frame. Note that
a link to the Descriptive Metadata for the 1895 appears in the lower left-hand
frame. Click on this to view this Descriptive metadata. Next
click on the 1899 version of the map in the Table of Contents Frame. Note
that a link to the Descriptive Metadata for this 1899 map now appears in
the lower left-hand frame.
This document demonstrates:

Transcription support. Pull down the option list under the "Left
Frame:" heading in the right-hand frame; then select the entry beginning
"Text" from this list. The text transcription for the Breen Diary
now appears in the left-hand frame.

Simultaneous page turning for the image and the transcription. Click
on the "Next" button at the top of the right-hand frame to advance both
the page images and the text transcription.
