This
pamphlet, issued by "Some Friends of the University"
in 1899, calls for the empowerment of the faculty
to judge in matters of proper and successful instruction
at the university. The pamphlet must have been written
after the Regents granted Wheeler sole authority
in these matters, which the authors felt is investing
too much power in one individual.
